Making Homemade Pancakes

Here's a basic recipe for making pancakes:

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter, cooled

Instructions:

  1. Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Make the batter: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Don't overmix.
  4. Heat the griddle: Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Cook the pancakes: Pour or scoop about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
  6. Flip and cook: Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look dry. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Remove the pancakes from the griddle and serve immediately with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Tips:

  • For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5-10 minutes before cooking.
  • If the batter is too thick, add a little more milk. If it's too thin, add a little more flour.
  • Get creative with toppings! Try adding chocolate chips, blueberries, or chopped nuts to the batter.
  • You can also make savory pancakes by adding herbs and spices to the batter.

Enjoy your delicious homemade pancakes!
